MEET JO BECKWITH
Speaker & Advocate
I am a public speaker, advocate, and writer, who passionately believes in the incredibly perseverant capacity of the human soul. We may not have the exact same life experiences but I know that as human beings we have the unique capacity to help each other heal and grow by sharing our stories.
I often speak in front of an audience or a camera and share my experiences as an amputee and survivor of trauma. Mental health is at the forefront of most talks as I have faced depression, anxiety, PTSD, and know the importance of attending to the temperature of our minds. My two YouTube channels, Trauma Talk and Footless Jo, are incredible outlets for me to be able to speak about my experiences.
Because public speaking a passion as well as a profession, I love being a part of my local Toastmasters club. I had the opportunity to lead my Toastmasters club as President during the 2018-2019 term.
When I am not speaking or in front of a camera, you'll definitely find me in the mountains with my handsome husband Brian, and our three big pups, Sadie, Sophie, and Monkey. We're proud parents not only to our dogs, but also to an extraordinarily loud fluffy cat and three pet rats!
